Eridanis was a character of mystery. A character that never could be completely comprehended or understood. I often had encountered Erindanis back in 1731, we often would go for long meanders through the gardens of uptown square, barely anyone enjoyed going there anymore since The Disaster transpired. But for Eridanis that place was something different. He enjoyed such places. I'd often find him there if I needed to speak to an intellectual. His knowledge far exceeded mine. He was wise in so many different ways that I admired. My memory is vague about Eridanis Nadir, although I shall my best to depict the type of person that he was.

I wonder.. thinking about this task at hand it seems that the best way for me to help you understand the type of person that Eridanis was would be for me to tell you of an event that took place shortly before The Disaster.

Early morning of that day a long time ago, the day was fresh and the dew had already decided to draw back from it's morningry visitation. I was walking down south next to the sunnydale brook when I saw a figurative shape in the distance beyond. I decided to make my way north until I could rightfully distinguish what this figure was. It was rather silhouetted by the morning sun. Soon, suddenly I heard of a voice greeting me out of the nothing, or well, as it seemed. I looked around and saw nobody so I continued walking forth when again I heard that unrecognised yet familiar voice. I had paused and wondered if I heard something at first but then I noticed that the words had been following me. Suddenly without hesitation I turned around to notice that it was my dear companion. Eridanis had been behind me this entire time. After exchanging greetings. I had told him of my current quest. He warned me against such an adventure due to the misery and misfortune that it would bring.

I was rather baffled of the unexplained when Eridanis told me that he had been to that place and he knew that it would bring me no good. He continued to elaborate. He told me that such a place has drawn so much attention, many people were intrigued to go there. He described to me that he had seen what happens to the people that do not heed his advice. Most mortals thought he was a fool. I had plenty time to spare for such a fascinating character. Most people did not take time to notice his wisdom as it was not something that you could tell from afar. I could quite easily sense the helpfulness and truth in his breath. He seemed to know of the ill nature of that place, almost as if he was familiar with it.

I am still very thankful to this very day that I had listened to Eridanis that day as I have since realised what would have become of me if I had not. I still do not completely understand what the implications might have been but Eradanis had told me that he had been down that dark road and I did not want to venture into that place.

That day Eradanis donned his trench coat which could not go missed. He had dark hair that came down to his shoulders and blueish grey eyes. His eyes had a sense of verity to them. I was amazed by his every word. Eradanis almost always wore dark clothing. His face had a few wrinkles but not much at all. He often had told me stories of his days when he was a soldier momentarily. He used to refer to himself as an ex-soldier. A few times I had noticed a crucifix around his neck, a piece of string and a wooden cross, the days that he wore this were on and off. I never could pinpoint the reason. He often would have a tome with him, always only one. Maybe it was his journal, I do not know but it did have some kind of importance to him. Once or twice when he would scratch through his pockets to find something new which he had brought along out would fall a reddish pink ribbon, I could easily tell that it bore resemblance to him. Memories of sorts.

Favorite Activity:

Due to the fact that I had not known Eridanis Nadir for long, I was never entirely ever sure of his favourite activity. From what I can recall, I often used to find writing in his tome him with his back against the grandiloquent oak tree which was situated in the middle of the garden. Rumour goes that it was said that many had known him as a varlet, however, we never discussed his past all too very much. I always knew Eridanis as someone who helped. I could never understand his lack of personal friends. Although it always just seemed that he preferred to be alone.
