You Should Know

This is a video poem that connects both my faith as a Christian to the idea of flight or ‘flying away’. It was a challenge in some ways to bring these together and I know if I had had more time to think through this I would have been more satisfied with the final product. Regardless it was a learning experience both to film, record, and edit.

This was for my Media Arts class at ECU. Here’s the poem:

You Should Know
I have a memory that I’m unable to fully recollect.
I’m alone without you,
But I’m finally remembering it.
You said God’s Sacrifice was made as well for me.

Conversationally you said
In a sad but hopeful voice.
Please don’t fly away,
You should know,
There’s still hope for you this day.

Life wanes in seconds as grass dies by the day,
Like the flash of an eye, can you hear me as I say.
Please don’t fly away,
You should know,
There’s still hope for you this day.
